A Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) is the electronic equivalent of a physical signature, issued under the Information Technology Act, 2000 by a licensed Certifying Authority. Class 3 DSCs are now the standard for business and government filings. They are stored on a secure USB token, issued after identity verification, and usually valid for one to three years.
