India, especially Gujarat, is a major supplier of polypropylene woven sacks and FIBC jumbo bags. Buyers use them for grain, sugar, fertiliser, cement, chemicals and minerals. The product is technical: one wrong number for fabric weight or safe working load can lead to a failed bag and a claim, so specifications must be exact.
To export PP woven bags or FIBC jumbo bags from India, get an IEC, GST registration with an LUT and an RCMC, usually from the Plastics Export Promotion Council (PLEXCONCIL). Woven sacks fall under HS code 6305 33 and FIBCs under 6305 32. Agree the fabric GSM, size, lamination, printing, liner and, for FIBCs, the safe working load, safety factor and type, and test to the standard the buyer names.
Sacks and bags for packing goods fall under heading 6305. For polyethylene or polypropylene strip, 6305 32 covers flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBC or jumbo bags) and 6305 33 covers other woven sacks. Laminated or printed bags may still fall here, but confirm the 8-digit code with your customs broker using our HS code guide.
Buyers often name ISO 21898 as the test standard for FIBCs. Keep top lift and other test reports for each design.
Woven sacks are pressed into bales of 500 or 1,000 pieces; FIBCs are folded, baled and palletised. Bales are dense, so plan container loading for weight as well as volume. Quote per piece or per 1,000 pieces FOB or CIF, with every specification point listed, because a change in GSM or lamination changes the price. For new buyers, take an advance or letter of credit.
The USA, Europe, the Gulf, Bangladesh, Africa and South East Asia buy Indian woven sacks and FIBCs. On BuyGenix you can see live woven bag requirements, jumbo bag requirements and country pages such as woven bag buyers in Bangladesh and jumbo bag buyers in Saudi Arabia.
FIBC jumbo bags of polyethylene or polypropylene strip fall under HS code 6305 32. Other PP woven sacks use 6305 33.
Plastic products usually register with the Plastics Export Promotion Council (PLEXCONCIL) for the RCMC.
It means the bag is designed to hold five times its safe working load in testing. Single-trip bags are usually 5:1 and multi-trip bags 6:1.
The USA and Europe are the largest buyers, followed by the Gulf, Africa and South East Asia.
We handle IEC, GST, LUT and RCMC registration so you can start quoting bag buyers.
