US FDA Food Facility Registration
Any facility that manufactures, processes, packs or holds food for consumption in the USA must register with the US Food and Drug Administration before shipping. Registration is free, it must be renewed every two years between October and December of even-numbered years, and a foreign facility has to name a US Agent.

US FDA Prior Notice Filing
Every food shipment to the USA needs a Prior Notice submitted to FDA before it arrives, within time limits set for each mode of transport. The confirmation number has to travel with the shipment, and a missing or late notice can get the cargo held at the port.

D-U-N-S Number

US LLC Formation
A US Limited Liability Company lets an Indian exporter invoice, hold a US bank account and sell on US marketplaces as a local business. Non-residents can form an LLC with a US state such as Wyoming or Delaware through a registered agent in that state.

US EIN (Employer Identification Number)
An EIN is the US federal tax ID for your LLC, needed for a US bank account, payment platforms and tax filings. Owners without a US Social Security Number apply to the IRS with Form SS-4.

UK Company Formation

The Registered Exporter (REX) system lets exporters in GSP beneficiary countries, including India, issue their own statement on origin so buyers in the EU, Norway, Switzerland and Turkey can claim lower duty on products that still qualify. Indian exporters register through the DGFT portal.
