पहले message में ही खतरे के संकेत
- Enquiry बहुत general है, जैसे "send your price list", जो किसी भी supplier को भेजी जा सकती है।
- बड़ी company बताकर free email, या ऐसा domain जो किसी मशहूर company की नकल करता है।
- Specification, packing या certification के बारे में बिना सवाल बहुत बड़ा order।
- तुरंत फैसला करने का दबाव, वरना "deal चली जाएगी"।
- "Order देखने" के लिए कोई link या attachment, जो phishing page हो सकता है।
सबसे आम export scams
Advance fee scam
"Buyer" बड़ा order confirm करता है, फिर registration, import permit, certification या agent commission के लिए पैसे मांगता है। पैसे देने के बाद buyer गायब हो जाता है।
Overpayment scam
Buyer invoice से ज़्यादा payment भेजता है, अक्सर cheque या पलटने वाले तरीके से, और फर्क वापस मांगता है। बाद में असली payment bounce हो जाता है।
Fake letter of credit
LC असली दिखता है, लेकिन जारी करने वाला bank मौजूद नहीं होता, या ऐसी शर्तें होती हैं जिनसे payment लगभग नामुमकिन है। LC पर shipment से पहले हमेशा अपने bank से check कराइए।
Sample और document fraud
कोई बिना खरीदने के इरादे के बहुत सारे free samples मांगता है, या आपके original documents मांगता है ताकि बिना payment माल ले सके।
Email account hack
Fraudsters email account hack करके payment के लिए "नए" bank details भेजते हैं। Bank details में कोई भी बदलाव हमेशा पहले से मौजूद number पर phone करके confirm कीजिए।
Buyer verification checklist
- Company check: उसके देश की official business registry में नाम, पता और directors मिलाइए।
- Website और domain: असली business की अपनी domain पर website होती है, जो उसके email से मेल खाती है।
- Published number पर call: website या registry पर दिए number पर call कीजिए, सिर्फ email वाले number पर नहीं।
- Video call: व्यक्ति को और हो सके तो उसका office या warehouse देखिए।
- Trade references: दूसरे suppliers के references मांगिए और जहां मिले वहां import history देखिए।
- Safe terms से शुरुआत: पहले order के लिए advance या confirmed LC, और पहला order छोटा रखिए।
